Tim Gao

Tim is director for Education Innovation at Nankai University. He also serves as Special Researcher of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Vice President and General Secretary of the International Tourism Investment Association, and is a Visiting/Adjunct Professor at Purdue University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Beijing Second International Studies University, Nankai University and Tianjin University of Commerce. He has been elected as Vice President of the China Hotel Association for two consecutive terms.

Prior, Tim was an executive in the hospitality industry, holding such positions as CEO of Oriental Hotels Management Company, Managing Director of TEDA Hotels Management Company, President of HNA Hotels and Resorts, and General Manager of CNPC International Hotels Management Company. He received his BS degree from Georgetown University, MA from the State University of New York and holds a Doctor of Public Administration degree from New York University. He was a visiting scholar at Oklahoma State University and the University of South Florida from 2012 to 2014.
